- The shake on the show is this. Music and cultural erudition have been maligned here in Honolulu. Violent recriminations of hipsterdom and foppish pretentiosness fly about like nuclear bombs in a cold war wet dream. And it's for little reason; most people here on the island have a natural and unpostured love of music, regardless of genre. My show is a window into a type of music that shimmers, shakes, and stomps. What I play is a blend of independent rock, pop, folk, and hell, even oldies that, while often times obscure, are relevant and played in a way so as to be immediately accessible. Yes, even to people who haven't necessarily had the privilege of growing up weaned from the teat of record store cultists, unassailable music bloggers, and ivory tower rock critics. What you get is a show filled with some of the best and most fun songs you will ever hear on radio. Spun with candor, caprice, and a side of pith. ..Or you know, just good fucking music.
